About Us
Red Letter Crib Signature is a Peterborough-based international arts organisation committed to widening access to the arts through free and affordable programmes, events and creative opportunities for Black and Global Majority communities. Its work centres those whose voices and creative practices have historically encountered structural barriers to participation, including survivors, neurodivergent, underserved and older creatives, disabled artists and others whose experiences remain underrepresented within the cultural landscape.
At the heart of Red Letter Crib Signature’s practice is a conviction that communities become more vital when people are afforded the space to speak, create and be witnessed on their own terms. Through storytelling, visual art, theatre and collective cultural practice, the organisation creates spaces in which lived experience can be explored, preserved and transformed. Its programmes foster artistic expression alongside connection, visibility and belonging, cultivating environments that are rigorous, compassionate and free from judgement.
Red Letter Crib Signature also produced Ghost of Rainmakers with Cockpit Theatre, London; Scent of Childhood Places with Landmark Theatres, Baby Melodies with Peterborough Celebrates, and many international partnerships, further demonstrating its capacity to develop collaborative cultural programming and create platforms through which Black creative voices and lived experiences can occupy the centre of the artistic conversation.
Through this sustained body of work, Red Letter Crib Signature continues to advance a more expansive understanding of cultural participation—one in which access is accompanied by agency, representation and the freedom to create.
